The internet today has thousands or millions of shoppers. Payments over the internet have become common place for many people. How can you set up your site so you too can be part of this phenomenon? To get your slice of the internet cake, how can you set up a site to take payments? How can you do so on a tight budget? Well the short answer is it is not difficult at all. Like all things you do for the first time you will need to concentrate but once done you will think it is a breeze. If you are new to the web you will be relieved as to how simple it all is. Well, what do you do? First you need to get yourself a good web host. Not a free one. Why not free? A free host makes you look unprofessional. They have their own advertising on your site. You need to be able to have your own advertising or no advertising so that you focus your customers on your product. Then you need find someone that will process your payments. One other thing you will need if you don't have it already is software for creating your web pages. There are some very good free programs available on the internet. Finding a good web hosting provider is your first job. Here are some things to look for: As your business grows and you promote more products you will need more domain names. Your web hosting provider must allow you to run a number of domains on your account. You also need to be able to have a good number of subdomains. Will you be able to run CGI scripts as well as PHP? How many databases will you be allowed to use. Most PHP scripts use MySql databases. This is what makes your sites dynamic. These are all questions you need to get answers to in order to decide on a web hosting provider. Then we need our payment processors. We'll just look at three. These are the most popular among internet marketers, they are also very affordable. Would free be cheap enough? The first one is free. You pay a small percentage of your sale to the processor. This one is PayPal. Free to join and set up your account. You will need a PayPal email address. It is good to set up a dedicated email for this. You should be able to do this with your hosting account as you should be able to set up a number of emails. 2checkout.com is another secure payment processor you could use. Many internet marketers use this payment processor. Most will use all three. This one has a setup fee of $50.00 and then charges a small fee for each sale you make. ClickBank is the last of our payment processors we will look at in this article. ClickBank has a huge list of products that they promote. They are used by most internet marketers who run affiliate programs. You can join ClickBank as an affiliate for free and begin promoting products. If you want to become a seller using ClickBank there is an initial one off fee of about $50. On the sites of both PayPal and 2Checkout.com you can set up your products and their sites will generate code you can place in your sales pages where you want the buttons to appear. Or link to an existing button. ClickBank will generate a URL you can link to a button on your site. This is the easiest method of the three. It is clear that it is both easy and inexpensive to set up a payment processor on your site.
